AGAINST NAMING THE COUNTRY AS INDIA **********************************When the Constituent Assembly decided to name the country as India, it was RSS which vehemently demanded it to be named as ‘Hindusthan’, the land of and for Hindus. In an editorial (titled ‘Hindusthan’) in its English organ, Organizer dated July 31, 1947, it demanded that whether it was the issue of naming it or finalizing the character of its polity, the exclusive Hindu character must be guaranteed.
