While China Telecom and Huawei jointly set up a 5G-enabled remote video diagnostic centre, which enabled medical staff to conduct online consultations with potential patients, Alibaba’s grocery chain remained open for business, proving to be a life-saver. Its logistics arm, Cainiao Smart Logistics Network, teamed up with dozens of logistics partners to launch a “Green Channel” initiative that ensured fast and safe delivery of medical supplies from around the world to Chinese provinces.
