MAOIST RED CORRIDOR IN INDIA

Some ‘so-called’ intellectuals as well as ‘pseudo’ human rights activists representing the Maoists have been urging the Governments both at the centre and the states to lay down arms and shun ‘so-called’ state terror as a pre-condition for a dialogue with the Maoists. They are of course intentionally playing into the hands of the antinational terrorist outfit with some ulterior motive despite knowing fully their ultimate aim, objective and modus operandi.

These perverts never condemn one after another brutality perpetrated by the Maoists in different states for the last few years. Abduction, extortion of money at gun point, butchering, open trial & sentencing to death in public and other gruesome activities on the part of the Maoists seem to them a birthright of the perpetrators. On the other hand, whenever the Government arrests any of them or takes any action in the defence of the common people from he Maoist marauders they plunge into the arena making a hue and cry in the name of ‘so-called’ human rights and natural justice for them under the constitution, which the Maoists discard.

The Maoists believe in the “annihilation of class enemies” and in “extreme violence” as a means to armed seizure of state power through guerrilla warfare. With this perspective, participation in elections and engagement with the prevailing ‘democracy’ are rejected. Their actions and ideas are incompatible to a democratic set up.

As part of its strategy, the cadres of both the CPI and the CPI (M) are declared as class enemies; whereas Mamata Banerjee, her party TMC and SUCI are considered class friends.

It supports all the ‘so-called’ nationalities’ struggles going in different parts of the country including ‘Gorkhaland’ and ‘Kamtapuri’ agitations for separate homelands, armed struggle in ‘Kashmir’ by Pakistani supported militants for independence and all secessionist movements of northeast.

Its armed force have 7000 armed cadres, 6000 fire arms including a large number of rifles of AK variety, light machine guns, self-loading rifles, carbines, 303s, grenades, revolvers, pistols and landmine technologies. It has also a technical squad which manufactures 12 bore guns and its ammunitions, repairs all kinds of weapons and assembles grenades.

This Maoist terrorist outfit is actually a perversion of Marxism-Leninism. It is an organization of assassins, hired killers, extortionists, blackmailers and mercenaries. It reportedly owns a fund amounting to more than 1,500 crores. The operation of the Maoists not only remain concentrated to kidnapping and looting of passengers traveling in trains and buses but also felling and selling of costly trees in collusion with wood smugglers in Jharkhand, Lalgarh, Jangalmahal and other areas. They also blow up bridges and other structures made of low quality materials to destroy proofs and evidences in order to help the contractors in exchange of money. In the name of fighting SEZ they are actually creating their own SEZ (Special Exploitation Zone) wherein these activities can be carried out uninterruptedly in the name of ‘so-called’ revolution and ‘Maoism’.

It must be underlined that contrary to the claims made by a section of pro-Maoist intellectuals that they are revolutionaries; these self-styled Maoists have nothing in common with the work and practice of the great revolutionary Mao-Ze Dong. During the lifetime and after the demise of Comrade Mao, the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) never used the term ‘Maoism,’ to denote a new theory. Rather, in the literature of the CPC and in the documents of their Party Congress's, the CPC has said that it follows Marxism-Leninism and Mao-ze Dong Thought.

It is evident through the interpretation of the CPC how Mao applied Marxism-Leninism to the specific conditions obtaining in China basing on its special characteristics. This is known as Mao-ze Dong thought. Those who are using the term ‘Maoism,’ are completely disregarding and dishonoring the vast revolutionary activities of Mao. These self-styled Maoists have degenerated into armed groups and have no qualms in killing poor people who dare oppose their extortionist terror.

This terrorist outfit is active in 156 districts of 17 states that include Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Uttaranchal and Kerala. It is responsible for 90% of the violence in the country. 721 people were killed in 1,591 Maoist attacks in 2008 and till August this year, 1,405 attacks claimed 580 lives spread over 11 states.

Maoist influence runs through a stretch of territory referred to as the "Red Corridor". This extends from the in Andhra Pradesh through and up to Bihar. Their objective of 'liberating' their proposed “Compact Revolutionary Zone” (CRZ) in other words “Red Corridor” extends from Nepal through Bihar Jharkhand in the North to Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Dandakaranya region (forest areas of Central India) and Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh in the South. Areas in western Orissa and eastern Uttar Pradesh are also under Maoist influence. And they have some presence in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka as well. In most areas of the “Red Corridor” they operate as a hit-and-run force.

The intention is to have a continuous stretch of territory under their influence and control, with the ultimate goal of eventually "liberating" the entire zone. Large parts of this territory have already been brought under the extremist influence with only some link-ups now necessary in the remaining pockets to make the CRZ a reality. Once achieved, the CRZ will virtually drive a wedge through the vital areas of the country, and would help crystallize linkages with other Maoist groups operating in South Asia.

Districts that fall in the “Red Corridor” are rich in minerals like iron ore and bauxite. But the people living there, who are largely Adivasi or tribal are desperately poor. Exploited by forest officials, contractors, mining companies and middlemen and neglected by the state, villagers in the Red Corridor are among the worst off in the country. And it is to liberate them from their oppressors and the Indian state that the Maoists claim to be waging their armed struggle.

It is true the Maoists have improved life for the Adivasis by forcing local officials to dig wells or pay better wages to the villagers. But over time, the liberators have turned oppressors themselves. Villagers who don't obey the Maoists have been killed and Maoist violence stands in the way of development projects. The Maoists have worsened the daily lives of some of India's most exploited people.

As a matter of fact, the Maoists want to create a new independent domain within the country where the Indian Constitution shall not be applicable. This one and only one aim and objective will be achieved with the help of other anti-national outfits, ‘so-called’ intellectuals, ‘pseudo’ human rights activists, a section of media glorifying them and forces across the border.

WHY MAMATA BANERJEE AND MAOISTS SO FURIOUS ON "24 GHANTA"

At about 1-30 a.m. on 14-10-2009 Soma Das and two other reporters of the Bengali TV News Channel “24 Ghanta” were brutally heckled and manhandled physically by the Central Ministers Mamata Banerjee and Mukul Roy, Naxalite leaders Purnendu Bose and Dola Sen, so-called human rights activist Sujat Bhadra and others for covering news in front of the house of painter Subhaprasanna, painter, who is at present known as the modern Rasputin of West Bengal. Most abusive and filthy language was used against them. Mukul Roy even called the Chief Minister by father. Dola Sen threatened Soma Das with rape. Not only that. Mamata Banerjee has implicated all the three in a false case of “Attempt to murder”. Their cameras were broken to pieces and Press Identity Cards were snatched. All of them were forced to remain confined within the concerned police station for more four hours. The hoodlums of Mamata Banerjee and Maoists physically tortured them within the police station.

What is the fact behind the incident?

A get together in the name of “Bijoya Sammilini” was arranged at the residence of Subhaprasanna at Salt Lake City on 13-10-2009 from 6-00 p.m. Representatives of all the anti-CPI (M) forces including pseudo intellectuals were invited. Two top journalists - one from “Star Anand” and the other from the “Ananda Bazaar Patrika” were also invitees for their pro-Maoist and pro-Mamata role. Three Maoist linkmen were also present. The meeting was actually called for discussing how to free Chatradhar Mahato, the dreaded Maoist of Lalgarh now in jail, and how to organize the intellectuals in favour of the Maoists and their atrocities as was done during the Nandigram episode. The so-called function continued till 1-00 a.m. next day. A second meeting was reportedly scheduled to be held at CD Block between the top Maoist ideologue Kishanji and Mamata Banerjee in the presence of selected Maoist leaders, so-called intellectuals and a particular human rights activist.

As this conspiratorial game plan was exposed, Mamata Banerjee and her associates got furious and took recourse to assault and humiliation of the reporters of “24 Ghanta” out of frustration.

Both the reporters of “Star Anand” and the “Ananda Bazaar Patrika” which talk so much about the freedom of journalists not only maintained studied silence during the entire incident but also allowed the humiliation of the three reporters to take place without any protest.

It is high time the people of the state should stand united against these conspirators who are bent upon pushing the state and its people into fire.

MAMATA BANERJEE ADVOCATES FOR MAOISTS

On 14th October, 2009 in a press meet Mamata Banerjee demanded immediate stoppage of joint operation in Lalgarh and withdrawal of joint forces from there. She alleged that they have been torturing the common people and the state power is being used against the people. She also informed that TMC leader Shri Partha Chatterjee, being the leader of the opposition, and others will meet the sympathetic Governor of West Bengal soon with the same demands. She also alleged ridiculously that the CPI (M) cadres were directly responsible for all the blowing up of rail-tracks, railway stations, school buildings, mobile towers and so on taking place in Jharkhand, Bihar, Orissa, Chathisgarh, Maharashtra and other states of the country. She certified that there is no Maoist in West Bengal. All the news and reportings involving the Maoists are bogus, fabricated and concocted stories. All the murders and destructions taking place in Lalgarh and other places are the handiwork of the CPI (M).

Within hours of this press meet, Kishanji, the topmost Maoist leader, by way of message over mobile to the media, welcomed the utterings and demands of Mamata Banerjee and conveyed the gratitude and appreciation of CPI (Maoist) to her. He also encouraged her asking to continue her agitation and pressure on the Central Government.

There is no denying the fact that the Maoists have wrecked havoc in different parts of the country. Thousands of innocent people and police personnel have already been butchered brutally by them. Despite repeated requests, they are not in a mood to negotiate peacefully and take part in the normal process within the framework of the Indian Constitution. On the other hand, they deny and defy the Indian Constitution. They are hell bent on capturing state power by fierce means forcefully.

Mamata Banerjee holds an important portfolio in the Central Government of Dr. Manmohan Singh who has declared again and again that the Maoists are the single largest threat to the internal security of the nation. She is openly advocating for the Maoists without any hesitation and justifying their antinational activities of subverting the Constitution and democracy in the country. Both the Prime Minister and the Railway Minister have been walking just in the opposite directions.
The nation, therefore, demands that the Prime Minister should either prevent her from taking recourse to such antinational activities or remove her from the Central Cabinet immediately in national interest because she certainly divulges secret decisions and matters to the antinational terrorists and forces.

"STAR ANAND" THE NEW NEWS CHANNEL OF MAMATA BANERJEE

The fundamental objective of journalism is to serve the people with news, views, comments and information on matters of public interest, in a fair, accurate, unbiased, sober and decent manner.

Throwing all code of ethics and media guidelines to the winds, the Bengali TV News Channel “Star Anand” has become the mouthpiece of Mamata Banerjee. Its one and only aim is to instal Miss Banerjee as the next Chief Minister of West Bengal anyway and at any cost.

If any watches this news channel minutely he will find that it believes in the theory of “One Nation, One Party and One Leader” as done by Hitler. During his period the entire media was misused nakedly to project him and his thoughts. Similarly, the “Star Anand” has been projecting Mamata Banerjee as ‘Goddess” and forcing its viewers to digest her irresponsible and ridiculous thoughts and clownings day in and day out. Discussions by panels consisting of blind anti-CPI (M) intellectuals are organized in this channel. It does not stop here. The serious law and order problems created throughout the state by the rainbow Maoist-TMC-SUCI-Congress alliance and the brutal murders of CPI (M) leaders and cadres by it are not only justified but also glorified on this or that pretext.

Each and every single reporting aired by “Star Anand” pertaining to CPI (M) and the Left Front is based on distortions of fact, slanderous campaign, untruthfulness, defamatory or derogatory imputations, inaccuracy, partiality, unfairness and indecency. If Hitler and/or his Propaganda Minister Dr. Joseph Goebbels were alive, they would have hung their heads in shame to see that their appropriate successor in the “Star Anand” has surpassed them in every matter of fraudulency, deception, dishonesty, distortion of fact, manufacture and concoction of false & fake news, slanderous campaign, unfairness and what not.

It has become as clear as crystal that the “Star Anand” is nothing but the official news channel of Mamata Banerjee and her rainbow alliance.

IS WEST BENGAL TURNING INTO ANOTHER PAKISTAN?

The United States of America and Great Britain had patronized the fundamentalist terrorist outfit of Talibans with financial assistance, guidance, advice and armed training in order to undermine the Soviet Russia strategically and overthrow the Nazibullah led Communist Government in Afghanistan. The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had provided armed training to the Mujahideens, who were predecessors of the Talibans, using the lands within Pakistan. Pakistan agreed in exchange of huge financial assistance from the USA. Taking full advantage of the situation, the Talibans were able to consolidate their position in Soweto Province of that country by 1996. By the year 2002 more than 24 terrorist organizations came into being. These include Lashkar-E-Taiba, Jaees-E-Mohammad, Harquat-Ul-Mujaheedin, Harqut-Al-Jihadi, Harqut-Al-Islam and so on. Today Pakistan has become not only a paradise but also a laboratory of fanatical terrorist outfits and their destructive activities. At present, the common people of the country have been paying with their lives for the misdeeds and wrongs perpetrated by the United States of America, the Great Britain and the then Governments of Pakistan.

Similarly, Mamata Banerjee, so-called intellectuals, so-called Human Rights Organizations, a section of politically motivated media, Congress and SUCI have paved the way for the entry of the anti-national terrorist outfit of Maoist murderers into West Bengal so as to weaken the CPI (M) and dislodge the Left Front Government without considering the dire consequences in future. They have provided the terrorist outfit with finance, advice, guidance, manpower and other assistance of all kinds as was done in Pakistan to the Talibans. The Maoists have already turned some parts of West Midnapur, Purulia and Bankura into killing fields. The common people of the state have been paying with their lives for the wrongs committed by Mamata Banerjee and her rainbow alliance for petty political gains. The normal life of the people of the Maoist infested areas have already been paralyzed. There is more agony in store for the people of this state in the coming days.

Mamata Banerjee and her rainbow alliance have to take responsibility for the same. The people of the state will never forgive them for throwing the state into fire.

"ANANDA BAZAAR PATRIKA" THE NEW PRINT MEDIA OF MAMATA BANERJEE

The Constitution of India gives editors and journalists the fundamental right to publish and print news or any kind of information and to comment and criticize on public affairs. It includes the right not to publish or comment as well. However, the freedom of the press is not absolute; neither is the freedom of expression.

The fundamental objective of journalism is to serve the people with news, views, comments and information on matters of public interest, in a fair, accurate, unbiased, sober and decent manner.

Throwing all code of ethics and media guidelines to the winds, the “Ananda Bazaar Patrika” is hell bent on disgracing, defaming, tarnishing and discrediting CPI (M) and its allies on this or that pretext.

As a matter of fact, “Ananda Bazaar Patrika” has always been not only biased but also prejudiced towards the C.P.I. (M), the Left Front and the Left Front Government. It never follows minimum journalistic ethics and fairness while publishing news in respect of CPI (M) and the Left Front Government. Now-a-days, its sole and only political aim is to instal Mamata Banerjee as the next Chief Minister of West Bengal by any how and at any cost. So, all their reporting is guided by this game plan in mind. So it has been glorifying the Maoist butchers as heroes and justifying the murders of CPI (M) leaders and cadres by them. It has been turning day into night and night into day. Every single news and reporting in respect of CPI (M) and the Left Front are based on distortions of fact, slanderous campaign, untruthfulness, defamatory or derogatory imputations, inaccuracy, partiality, unfairness and indecency. If Hitler and/or his Propaganda Minister Dr. Joseph Goebbels were alive, they would have hung their heads in shame to see that their appropriate successors in the “Ananda Bazaar Patrika” and others such as ‘Bartaman’, ‘Pratidin’ ‘Sangbad’ “The Statesman” following it have surpassed them in every matter of fraudulency, deception, dishonesty, distortion of fact, manufacture and concoction of false & fake news, slanderous campaign, unfairness and what not.

Old people will not forget the role of “Ananda Bazaar Patrika” during 1967-1972. During this period, it had glorified the Naxalites as heroes and their action of individual killings. The Naxalites had killed hundreds of CPI (M) people in connivance with Congress, police, RAW and hardened criminals. Thousands of people were made refugees by evicting them from their shelter and means of livelihood. At that time the “Ananda Bazaar Patrika” acted as the ambassador of Congress-Naxalite Alliance.

The “Ananda Bazaar Patrika” is so much obsessed with anti-CPI (M) politics that even a slight rumour or gossip involving CPI (M) occupies its headings of the front page.

MAHASWETA DEVI GOT HER DUE SUITABLY FROM IMPERIALISTS

Today Mahasweta Devi, the Bengali novelist and so-called champion of tribal communities, is the “Friend, Philosopher and Guide” of the Maoists in West Bengal.

Instead of big capitalists, moneylenders, wood smugglers and big landlords, the Maoists have made CPI (M) and the mainstream Leftist Movement their prime target. Their aim and objective is to bring Fascist oriented Mamata Banerjee to power in West Bengal any how and at any cost. All the blind anti-Communist forces have stood behind the Maoists to dislodge the Left Front Government. Mahasweta Devi is the symbol of the cultural –cum-intellectual front of this rainbow alliance. The imperialists and big business houses have entrusted her to organise the intellectuals against the CPI (M) and the mainstrem leftists. The Maoists and all other forces politically opposed to the CPI (M) hold regular meetings with her at her residence to chalk out plan and programme for dislodging the Left Front Government. The brutal murders of the innocent people by the Maoist-TMC butchers taking place one after another in Lalgarh is the part and parcel of this ill-designed game plan financed, guided and supported by the imperialists and big business houses. Today the entire tribal population of Lalgarh and Jangalmahal areas of West Bengal has been landed in a dangerious situation by the rainbow alliance and Mahasweta Devi. Their life, shelter and means of livelihood are at stake.

In order to prove Mahasweta’s genius and versatility and justify her anti-social and anti-people misdeeds it is often argued boastfully that she is a receipant of Magsaysay Award which is considered the Asian equivalent of the Nobel prize. Mahasweta Devi is the 36th woman and 35th Indian to receive the Award, which carries with it a cash prize of $ 50,000. She was very much proud on receiving the award.

Now, the question arises in whose name this award has been introduced, who was he and who are considered most suitable for the Award.

Ramon del Fierro Magsaysay (August 31, 1907 - March 17, 1957) was the third President of the Third Republic of the Phillipines from December 30, 1953 until his death in a plane crash on 17th March, 1957.

On April 23, 1946, Magsaysay was elected as an Independent to the Phillippines House of Representatives. In 1949 he was re-elected to a second term in the House of Representatives. During both terms he was Chairman of the House National Defense Committee.

In early August 1950 he offered President Quirino a plan to fight the Communist guerillas, using his own experiences in guerrilla warfare during World War II. He was an advocate of cruel government action against the Communist-led Hukbalahap (Huk) guerrillas. After some hesitation, Quirino appointed Magsaysay Secretary of National Defence on August 31, 1950. He intensified the campaign against the Communist guerillas. Thousands of Communists were not only butchered brutally by Magsaysay but also their entire justified struggle was crushed ruthlessly by him. This success was due in part to the unconventional methods he employed and developed alongside an American adviser, General Edward Lansdale. The United States of America had assisted him financially for the purpose.
In June 1952 Magsaysay made a goodwill tour to the United States and Mexico.

He was convinced that the only way to continue his fight against Communism was to be elected President ousting the existing administration that, in his opinion, had caused the rise of the Communist guerrillas. He resigned his post as Defense Secretary on February 28, 1953, and became the Presidential Candidate of the Nacionalista Party, disputing the nomination with senator Camilo Osias at the Nacionalista national convention. In the Election of 1953, Magsaysay was decisively elected president over the incumbent Elpidio Quirino.

As President, he was a close friend and supporter of the United States and a vocal spokesman against Communism during the Cold War. He laid the foundation of the South-East Asia Treaty Organization also known as the Manila Pact of 1954, that aimed to defeat Communist-Marxist movements in South East Asia, South Asia and the Southwestern Pacific.

On March 17, 1957 President Ramon del Fierro Magsaysay Magsaysay, a butcher responsible for the slaughtering thousands of Communists in Phillipines, died in a plane crash while flying back to Manila from Cebu.

The award under the name and style “Magsaysay Award” has been introduced after his name to felicitate and acknowledge blind anti-Communist intellectuals only working in Asia in order to encourage and promote them in their activities. So, as a part of this anti-Communist objective and campaign, Mahasweta Devi has been awarded Magsaysay Award for her role of blind hostility towards Communism in India but not for tribal welfare activities as is being propagated by her sychophants. If she were a genuine Leftist or if she had possessed mimimum conscience, she would not have cerrtainly accepted the award introduced in the name of a butcher of Communists.

PRIVATISATION OF INDIAN RAILWAYS BY MAMATA BANERJEE

On 29-09-2009 Sudhir Kumar, Executive Director, Electrical Engineering (Development), Railway Board has issued a Global Tender inviting private entrepreneurships to quote for building a factory at Dankuni for the manufacture of modern railway engines on the basis of “Build Own and Operate” principle. It is said in the tender that the Indian Railways would lease out 300 acres of land after developing it by way of spending Rs. 123 crores. The Indian Railways will be bound to purchase at least 100 engines from this private factory every year.

So far Mamata Banerjee not only talked high against privatization but also did not forcibly allow coming up factories at Singur, Nandigram and other places in West Bengal in the name of saving agricultural land. She used the Maoists and other anti-national forces for this purpose. Till recently she was talking about Public-Private Partnership Project (P.P.P).

But now she herself is hell bent on gifting railway lands and properties to private entrepreneurships at nominal rates say free of costs.

In this connection, it is pertinent to mention that privatization of the Indian Railways started on the recommendations of the Prakash Tandon Committee in 1993.

Subsequently, the Rakesh Mohan Committee had submitted on 12-02-2001 its recommendations to the then Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee for the corporatisation of 6 manufacturing units. She had not objected to the recommendations.

Now after eight long years, she has again taken initiative for the privatization of the Indian Railways. She has two purposes in mind.

(1) To hasten the death of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works which has been suffering for want of orders. The placement of order on this works has already been brought down to 60 from 150 every year by the Indian Railways.

(2) To hand over railway lands to the private entrepreneurships in spite of knowing fully that they were acquired under LA Act, 1894 for a particular purpose and not for handing over to private parties.

This is nothing but utter duplicity and fraud on the part of Mamata Banerjee. She thinks the people stupid and idiot. She also thinks that people believe and accept whatever she says and does. It is not understood how long the people go on tolerating this type of woman in the Indian politics.

POLITICALLY MOTIVATED MISREPRESENTATION ABOUT LALGARH ON-GOINGS

An attempt is being made by a section of the politically motivated media, pseudo intellectuals and TMC to prove that the Maoist movement at Lalgarh is the result of utter poverty being experienced by the tribals.

This propaganda is not only far from truth but also a calculated perversion of fact. It is actually the so-called “revolutionary activities” of Maoists to undermine the state and seize power. It is also a purely political movement based on the annihilation of CPI (M) and on “extreme violence” as a means to secure organizational goals. This is why one after another CPI (M) leaders and cadres are being butchered in Lalgarh. Poverty of the people has nothing to do anything in this Maoist movement.

The Maoist objective of 'liberating' the proposed Compact Revolutionary Zone (CRZ) extends from Nepal through Bihar in the North to Dandakaranya region (forest areas of Central India) and Andhra Pradesh in the South. The intention is to have a continuous stretch of territory under their influence and control, with the ultimate goal of eventually "liberating" the entire zone to create a state within a state. Large parts of this territory have already been brought under the extremist influence with only some link-ups now necessary in the remaining pockets to make the CRZ a reality. The three districts of Jangalmahal areas including Lalgarh also fall within their Compact Revolutionary Zone of red corridor.

If anyone rolls back his eyes and studies the developments of the last so many months minutely, he will find that there was never any sort of agitation, whatsoever, in Lalgarh and in its surroundings demanding developmental works or basic needs.

Lalgarh is a Gram Panchayat within the Binpur block in West Midnapur district. There are nine GPs in the same block. Binpur Assembly constituency is composed of the GPs of Binpur I and II. In Lalgarh and in its surroundings the CPI (M) and other Leftist forces have always been weak.

It is a known fact that since 2001, ‘Maoists’ started to build their contacts in West Midnapur, Bankura, and Purulia districts and in certain areas, waged concerted attacks against the Left forces targeting the CPI (M) as the main enemy.

They have been waiting for a chance to surface. On 2nd November 2008, an attempt was made by the Maoists to assassinate the West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, when he was returning from Shalboni in West Midnapur along with the Union Steel Minister after laying the foundation stone of a steel plant. The landmine exploded by the Maoists missed the Chief Minister’s convoy narrowly. The police launched operations to arrest the culprits and some suspects were arrested.

The local tribals led by the Bharat Jakat Majhi Marwa (BJMM), a body of adivasi community leaders, launched protests against ‘so-called’ police atrocities. They demanded treatment and compensation for the injured tribal women, action against the guilty police officials and release of the arrested suspects. On14th November the BJMM leadership reached an agreement with the local authorities. The administration accepted most the demands and provided treatment and compensation for the injured women, released eight of the accused including three school going boys who were arrested and the SP and the Inspector in Charge of Lalgarh police station were transferred.

However, the Maoists under the leadership of Chatradhar Mahato formed another Committee named Police Santrash Birodhi Janasadharner Committee (PSBJC). It accused the BJMM leadership of selling out. The PSJBC blockaded the entire Lalgarh area by digging up roads and felling trees, similar to Nandigram, and made the area out of bounds for the police and the administration. They demanded a public apology by the District Superintendent of Police of West Midnapur and other policemen by holding their ears and crawling with their nose to the ground. The administration tried to open dialogue with them but the PSBJC continued with the blockade insisting upon the public apology by the police officials. That the PSBJC was not interested in resolving the issue in a peaceful and democratic manner became clear with the continuing blockade.

The local tribal people were not in favour of the undemocratic tactics adopted by the Maoist backed PSBJC. The Bharat Jakat Majhi Marwa organized a rally to protest Maoist violence on 9th December in the Bhulabheda area of Belpahari, where more than 10,000 adivasis had gathered. Sudhir Mandal, the adivasi leader who organized the rally, was shot dead by the Maoists less than 48 hours later. The PSBJC formed a parallel administration and its Maoist allies prevented the entry of the police and administration in the villages of Belpahari, Binpur, Lalgarh, Jamboni, Shalboni and Goaltore.

The self-styled leader of the so-called people’s committee, Chatradhar Mahato who is a known Trinamool Congress activist, was moving with maintaining close liaison with the “Maoists.’ He is now under arrest since 26-09-2009. His younger brother is a zonal commander of the ‘Maoists.’ Just before the 15th Lok Sabha elections were announced, the TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee herself went to express her solidarity with the pro-Maoist committee (Peoples Committee against Police Atrocities) formed in the area under the leadership of a former Trinamool Congress leader Chatradhar Mahato on February 4, 2009. She shared the same platform publicly with Chatradhar Mahato to address the people in the presence of the leadership of the PCAPA. It is funny to hear that the Trinamool Supremo declared the Lalgarh agitation as another ‘Santhal rebellion’ though Chatradhar declared the Lalgarh agitation as another ‘Santhal rebellion’ though Chatradhar Mahato himself is not a Santhal or even an adivasi. In the mid-19th century, the first Santhal rebellion took place under the leadership of Sidhu-Kanho against the British Raj followed by the revolts led by first Tilka Murmu, and then Birsa Munda. No other political party was allowed to visit the area, which had been blockaded by the committee. However, while Left party leaders were being targeted and sought to be killed, she along with other TMC leaders could go there without any security!

MAMATA BANERJEE IGNORES 'AILA' AFFECTED PEOPLE IN WEST BENGAL

It is well known that the devastating storm ‘Aila’ had caused an enormous and unprecedented damage to the lives and properties of the people in different parts of West Bengal on 25th May, 2009. The districts of 24, Parganas (S) and Darjeeling were most affected. Almost all the affected areas fall within the parliamentary constituencies won by the candidates of Mamata Banerjee and her alliance.

The Central Government has lent a hand to the State Government by way of sanctioning a financial assistance of Rs. 1,000 crores for the rehabilitation of the affected people. It had also by a notification in writing requested all the Members of Parliament in West Bengal to donate generously from their respective MPLAD Fund for the purpose within September 2009.

It is not only most unfortunate but also condemnable that none of the Members of Parliament belonging to TMC, Congress and SUCI donated even a single paise whereas MPs of Left Parties and many outside Parliament Members belonging to other parties including Congress have donated from Rs. 5 Lakhs to 50 Lakhs making a fund of Rs. 5.15 crores.

This sort of political meanness and narrowness on the part of irresponsible politicians deserve all out denunciation.

RAILWAY EMPLOYEES AT THE SERVICE OF MAOISTS

Bratya Basu is a well-known pro-Mamata Banerjee and pro-Maoist dramatist. He is notorious for his blind anti-CPI (M) stand. He maintains regular close contacts with the Maoists. He has also visited Lalgarh a number of times to encourage them in their destructive activities and butchering of poor innocent people. During the last Parliamentary Elections this man had very actively worked for the candidates of Mamata Banerjee.

This so-called intellectual has done a shooting of a pro-Maoist feature film from 6th October, 2009 to 13th October, 2009 at Noongola in Howrah which falls within the own area of the Indian Railways. The film is purely a politically motivated one and is not connected with the railways in any way.

It is surprising to see that throwing all rules and regulations to winds, Mamata Banerjee had instructed in writing the railway officials and employees to be on duty to help the shooting in two shifts.

This is nothing but blatant misuse of the Indian Railways for the cause of the anti-national Maoists who are engaged in blowing up bridges, railway stations, rail tracks and other properties of the Indian Railways and in kidnapping railway officials in different states of the country.

Again and again, Dr. Manmohan Singh has termed the Maoists as the largest single threat to the internal security and safety of the country. At present, the central forces with the help of state forces are on joint offensives against the butcher Maoists in a number of states. But one of his important Central Ministers is directly in link with the Maoists and defending them publicly.

The nation, therefore, wants to know how long will he tolerate Mamata Banerjee in his cabinet?

GOVERNORS MUST REMAIN IMPARTIAL

According to the Constitution, it is the duty of the Governor to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution and the law and to devote himself to the service and well-being of the people of the state to the best of his abilities.

There is no denying the fact that the Governor is a constitutional head of a state. So, he has two options only. He may call the Chief Minister or any of his Ministers for discussion on any matter which he considers to be serious. The second option is that he may send his report to the Central Government. One eminent Indian Constitutional Expert has very rightly commented that the Governor cannot have any personal view. He has to work within the constitutional limitations. He has no scope for possessing any opinion different from that of the state government.

In Shamsher Singh Vs State of Punjab, the Supreme Court held that the President and the Governors are only constitutional heads and they exercise their power and functions with the aid and advice of the Council of Ministers and not personally. Wherever the constitution requires the ‘satisfaction’ of the President or the Governor, the ‘satisfaction’ is not the personal satisfaction of the President or the Governor but it is the satisfaction of the Council of Ministers.

The pro-imperialist and blind anti-Communist Governor of West Bengal is a man of man of many parts and personality with learning, passion, emotion and compassion. But bad people say that all these qualities are prejudiced and one eyed. He is not so innocent and impartial as he pretends to look. Besides, he is also in possession of an unusual ‘conscience’. It wakes up all on a sudden only when Mamata Banerjee and her rainbow alliance of Maoist-TMC-Congress-SUCI-Few Perverted Intellectuals-Media-NGOs-Human Rights Originations desires and demands in times of need to push their political agenda of overthrowing the Left Front Government in West Bengal. Many people are of the firm opinion that he is a “Friend, Philosopher and Guide” of this alliance and the Governor House has become a centre for hatching political conspiracy against the Left Front Government.

The frequent politically motivated statements issued by him for landing the Left Front Government in constitutional crisis has earned him the unequivocal praise of Mamata Banerjee and her rainbow alliance. To tell the truth, instead of discharging impartially and honestly his duties as a constitutional head, he himself has been in the arena trying to embarrass, heckle and humiliate the Left Front Government and tarnish its image in the estimation of the people throughout the country. He has been instrumental in sabotaging the industrial resurgence of the state. His modus operandi for creating constitutional crisis in the state with the help of the opposition has, therefore, considerably and definitely lowered and damaged the dignity, honour, prestige and status of this august office. It, therefore, not only goes against the spirit of the Constitution but also aimed at subverting it.

The Governors in Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Bihar, Goa, Jharkhand and West Bengal have acted in gross violation of the Constitution and the law in recent times. People felt outraged by the decisions of the Governors favouring a particular party or coalition. Fortunately the damage caused to the Constitution and to democratic norms was rectified to some extent through the intervention of the Supreme Court, but the damage to the institution of Governors has proved to be irreparable.

It is largely the conduct of a few such Governors that has led to the devaluation of the institution. Some political parties in power both at the Centre and in the States have also contributed to this process of erosion of the prestige and usefulness of the office of governor by having their "own men" in the Raj Bhavans.
Many suggestions have been made by constitutional experts and commissions in order to enable the governors to discharge the duties assigned to them by the Constitution efficiently and satisfactorily. If further erosion of this important institution is to be averted, appropriate corrective measures have to be taken without delay.

Two such measures can be identified as the most important and urgent.
The first is to have a proper system for the selection of persons to be appointed as Governors. An ideal method of selecting suitable persons for governorship is to form a panel of persons in advance from which alone appointments are to be made as and when vacancies arise. Such a panel should be prepared by a high level committee with the Vice-President as Chairman and the Prime Minister, Chief Justice of India, Home Minister and leaders of the Opposition in the two Houses as members. This will help a great deal to increase the credibility of the persons appointed to this high office.

The second important requirement in ensuring impartiality and dignity for the institution of governors is to give them adequate security of tenure. Today the Governor’s post is the least secured among the constitutional posts in the country. Article 156(1) of the Constitution states that a Governor holds his office during the pleasure of the President which in practice means the Prime Minister. Unfortunately, Article 156(1) has been so much misused by the Prime Ministers in the past that the Governor’s position has become in some respects worse than that of an ordinary employee of the Central Government. An employee of the Central Government cannot be removed or dismissed from office without due process, but in the case of Governors, removal can be enforced through "command resignations" as had happened in several cases in the past.

Dr B.R. Ambedkar had assured the Constituent Assembly that there was no need for any special provision in the Constitution for the removal of Governors as such removal will be only in exceptional cases of gross misconduct or violation of the Constitution. His stand, no doubt, reflected the high standards of constitutional propriety and idealism prevalent at the time of the framing of the Constitution. But experience has shown that in the absence of definite provisions in the Constitution for removal of Governors, this power can be misused at the whims and fancies of those in power. A provision, therefore, has to be made in the Constitution laying down the reasons for removal of a Governor and the procedure to be followed for removing him.

If the above two suggestions are adopted as part of the constitutional and administrative reforms promised by the Government it will help a great deal in getting suitable and deserving persons for the post of Governor and curbing the growing tendency among politicians to treat the Governors as just another group among the "employees" of the parties in power.

INNOCENT PEOPLE MURDERED BY MAOISTS IN WEST BENGAL

Most of the people so far butchered by TMC-Maoists at Lalgarh and other places are poor tribals mostly belonging to CPI (M). The society demands timely disposal of the dead body of even a creature. But the entire world witnessed with horror how the dead bodies of 4 poor tribal CPI (M) cadres butchered by Maoist-TMC-Congress-SUCI Alliance were kept in open for 5 days without disposal by the Maoist-TMC criminals at Lalgarh in West Bengal. Their relatives were neither allowed to come near nor touch the bodies. The Maoists and TMC workers danced and sang around the bodies in the same manner as is practiced by cannibals. Their brutality and inhumanity surpassed all limits of human tolerance and society.

Thousands of CPI (M) cadres and their families have been evicted from their ancestral homes. Their houses have been torched by TMC-Maoist criminals and murderers. They have been rendered jobless in these hard days of existence. The families of the murdered persons and others have been thrown into the streets for starvation.

The so-called innocent and impartial Governor of West Bengal is silent over unprecedented slaughter of innocent people because he thinks that they are not human beings. His conscience wakes up suddenly as and when Mamata Banerjee, Maoists and perverted “so-called” intellectuals demand and desire. Shame on the Governor and the imperialist agents-turned-perverted intellectuals!

The sycophant spineless anti-Communist intellectuals are busy in receiving Free AC Railway Passes and other favours and gratis from imperialists, big business houses, Mamata Banerjee and landlords for their shameful and anti-national service.

The following is an incomplete list of poor tribals and minorities belonging to CPI (M) and other Leftist Parties butchered on and from 01-01-2001 by the “Rainbow Alliance” of Mamata Banerjee-Maoist-Congress-SUCI-Perverted-cum-Communist-Hater Intellectuals.

MAMATA BANERJEE GIVES FOOTHOLD TO MAOISTS IN WEST BENGAL

The Communist Party of India (Maoist) believes in the “annihilation of class enemies” and in “extreme violence” as a means to secure organizational goals. It has affirmed its commitment to the strategy of “protracted armed struggle” which defines its objectives not in terms of the seizure of lands, crops, or other immediate goals, but the armed seizure of state power through guerrilla warfare. Within this perspective, participation in elections and engagement with the prevailing “bourgeoisie democracy” are rejected, and all efforts and attention is firmly focused on “revolutionary activities” to undermine the state and seize power.

As part of its strategy, the Maoists fiercely oppose the mainstream communist parties, the CPI and the CPI (M). The cadres of both the parties are declared as class enemies. On the other hand, the Maoists regard Mamata Banerjee and her allies as their class friends.

It supports all the so-called “nationalities’ struggles” going in different parts of the country including ‘Gorkhaland’ and ‘Kamtapuri’ agitations for separate homelands and armed struggle in ‘Kashmir’ by Pakistani supported militants.

This terrorist outfit is actually a perversion of Marxism-Leninism. It has become an organization of assassins, hired killers, extortionists, blackmailers and mercenaries. It reportedly owns a fund amounting to more than 1,500 crores. The operation of the Maoists not only remain concentrated to kidnapping and looting of trains and four wheeler passengers but also felling and selling of costly trees in collusion with wood smugglers in Jharkhand, Lalgarh, Jangalmahal and other areas. They also blow up bridges and other structures made of low quality materials to destroy proofs and evidences so as to help the contractors in exchange of money.

The outfit is active in 156 districts of 17 states that include Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Uttaranchal and Kerala. It is responsible for 90% of the violence in the country. 721 people were killed in 1,591 Maoist attacks in 2008 and till August this year, 1,405 attacks claimed 580 lives spread over 11 states.

Now-a-days this organization is very much active in West Midnapur, Bankura and Purulia of West Bengal occupying the captions of the media. The pertinent question arises as to what are the reasons behind their emergence and consolidation in these areas.

Today it is proved as clear as crystal that Mamata Banerjee and her Rainbow Alliance with the blessings of the Governor of West Bengal and others are responsible for the present spate of violence and are also accountable for providing the Maoists a foothold in West Bengal for petty political gains. A brief account of the role played by organizations and individuals is placed below in national interest.

ROLE OF MAMATA BANERJEE AND HER RAINBOW ALLIANCE

The one and only aim and objective of Mamata Banerjee is to dislodge the Left Front Government in West Bengal by any means and at any cost in order to become its Chief Minister. Keeping this stance in mind she ganged up herself with Kamatapuri and other local terrorist organizations during 2006 Assembly Elections. After being trounced in an unprecedented manner in the elections, she realized that she could not remove the Left Front Government with local terrorists and separatists. So, she started hiring and misusing the Maoists from Jharkhand for this purpose from 2007 onwards.

The Maoist mercenaries and butchers were used first at Nandigram in the name of fighting for ‘agricultural land’ and ‘environment’. Her party goons with the active support and guidance of Maoist butchers and criminals killed a good number of CPI (M) leaders and cadres, drove others away from their ancestral homes, torched their houses, looted their properties & belongings and raped their females. Roads were dug up, government offices, vehicles and properties were plundered and burnt down and trees worth crores of rupees were felled. Now, Nandigram is a liberated zone of the Rainbow Alliance of Maoist-TMC-Congress-SUCI-Few Perverted Intellectuals-Communal Forces. During this so-called movement, workers of most of the opposition political parties got themselves intermingled with the Maoists and other terrorist outfits. At that time they had received the blessings and support of the Governor of West Bengal and the media.

Thereafter, the Maoists were used by the Rainbow Alliance at Singur to drive away the ‘Nano’ factory from West Bengal with the full support of competing car manufacturers. The Governor played a controversial role in the name of arbitration.

At present the Maoists are being used in West Medinipur, Bankura and Purulia to fulfil their plan of creating a liberated zone also. The stories about their unprecedented brutalities in Lalgarh, Jangalmahal, Sarenga, Balarampur, Shalboni and other areas are coming to light daily. Here also workers of TMC and Congress are actively with them.

If the TMC, Congress and SUCI had not supported Maoists, they could not have earned entity and carried out their murderous activities.

ROLE OF THE MEDIA IN WEST BENGAL

The blind anti-Communist and anti-CPI (M) Media in West Bengal has been playing a pivotal role in the emergence of Maoists. They not only lend them unequivocal support but also glorify their brutal activities against CPI (M). All their reporting about CPI (M) is based on distortions of fact, slanderous campaign, untruthfulness, derogatory imputations, inaccuracy, partiality, unfairness and indecency. Even a slight rumour or gossip against CPI (M) occupies the captions of their front page.

ROLE OF ‘SO-CALLED’ INTELLECTUALS

Few bankrupt, perverted, greedy, spineless, dishonest, sold-out and anti-Communist intellectuals have been hell bent on dislodging the Left Front Government in West Bengal in order to instal Mamata Banerjee as the next Chief Minister of West Bengal.

As a matter of fact, some time back most of these so-called bankrupt intellectuals were seen sticking to the Chief Minister of West Bengal and other leaders of the Left Front like leeches and parasites for earning undue favours. Their proximity and shameless sycophancy enabled them to manage flats, lucrative plots of valuable lands in posh areas, employment and berths in different places of profit making not only for themselves but also for their near, dear and far ones unduly and improperly. When they realized that no more facilities can be earned, they changed side assuming that the days are changing. Now-a-days they are seen with their ‘Didi’ on her political platforms performing jugglery and singing & dancing to her tune.

Some of them have already succeeded in managing from their ‘Didi’ Life Long Free A.C. Railway Passes with one companion and berths on various Railway Committees especially set up to accommodate them at huge public expenses. These intellectuals are now standing in queue at the door of Mamata Banerjee jostling and elbowing for tickets to State Assembly Elections in 2011, Padma Shree, Padma Bhusan, Padma Vibhusan and other National Awards for their shameless sycophancy.

So, these so-called intellectuals have been helping the Maoists in every possible manner to gain ground and foothold. They keep close contact with the Maoists and often organize seminars and meetings in their favour and publicity. Whenever the Maoists are in trouble, they come forward to shield and shelter them as was done by few so-called intellectuals visiting ‘Lalgarh’ just at the beginning of the joint operation.

ROLE OF NON GOVERNMENT ORGANISATIONS

In different states of India, there are problems of suicides by farmers for unable to repay bank loans, SEZ, hunger, land acquisition, drought, industrialization, urbanization, construction of Thermal Power Plants, aerodromes, expansion of Roads and so on. But some suspicious NGOs and their organizers, instead of other states, have concentrated their total destructive activities in WB only against the CPI (M) led Left Front Government in the name saving ‘environment’ and ‘agricultural land’ and fighting ‘SEZ’ in Nandigram, Naya Char, Singur and Lalgarh. They actively support the Maoists and move jointly with them. The lavish life style of these organizers, their extravagant expenditure on frequent air flights, lodging and boarding at 5 Star Hotels, traveling in fleet of costly cars, their connection with Maoists, other antinational terrorist outfits financed by outside and their closeness to some spineless greedy sycophant anti-Leftist intellectuals, their proximity and easy access to prejudiced WB Governor are all a matter of serious concern. The mysterious source of their income and mode of expenditure needs a thorough investigation in national interest.

ROLE OF ‘SO-CALLED’ HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANISATIONS

The so-called Human Rights Organizations are in fact the open mass organizations of the Maoists and other anti-national terrorist organizations financed and supported by imperialists and forces across the border. They are very much active in the name of safeguarding the “human rights” of the anti-national terrorists. The media and these leaders used one another in launching vociferous and vicious attack on CPI (M). The leaders of these organizations have played a vital role during the episodes of Nandigram, Rizwanur Rahaman, Singur and Lalgarh when they were seen in panel discussions and other forums of TV Channels attacking CPI (M) and the Left Front Government. The mysterious source of their income and mode of expenditure also deserves an in-depth probe in national interest.

ROLE OF IMPERIALISTS

To day in India the Leftists particularly the CPI (M) are the main enemy of the imperialists. Both inside and outside the Parliament they always oppose vehemently the anti-people, anti-national and pro-imperialist policies of the Central Government. The Indo-American Nuclear Pact was delayed due to the opposition of the Leftists. So, the imperialists finance, guide and support the Maoists, perverted intellectuals, media and political parties to undermine CPI (M) and its allies in their own interest. The imperialists have been able to cut the leftists to size in West Bengal and Kerala with the help of Mamata Banerjee and her Rainbow Alliance.

ROLE OF CORPORATE SECTORS AND INDUSTRIAL HOUSES

The corporate sectors and industrial houses opposed to the industrialization of West Bengal for commercial and competitive reasons have important role in the abandonment of much-awaited Chemical Hub at Nandigram, Tata’s Nano Factory at Singur, expansion of National Highways, construction of Hospitals, I.T. Parks, Bridges, Aerodromes, Industries, Thermal Power Plants, etc. They financed the Maoists and the Rainbow Alliance during the unparalleled turmoils at Nandigram and Singur and now finance in Lalgarh.

ROLE OF THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT

The Prime Minister Dr.Manmoan Singh has again and again declared ‘Maoists” as the single greatest threat to internal security of the nation. But Mamata Banerjee and six Central Ministers-of-State openly support Maoists, keep close contact with them and hold regular meetings with them. These Ministers not only frequently demand withdrawal of joint operation against Maoists but also some of them even visit Lalgarh regularly to embolden Maoists to carry out their destructive activities and mass killing of tribals in the name of so-called ‘revolution’. She holds one hand to Dr. Manmohan Singh and the other to the Maoists. The function of cabinet is a collective responsibility. The Prime Minister, therefore, cannot deny the responsibility of Mamata Banerjee and his colleague Ministers belonging to TMC. But he is keeping studied silence triggering an impression to gain ground that he appeases Mamata Banerjee who actually represents Maoists in his cabinet. The role of the UPA Government is, therefore, nothing but dubious, double standard, antinational, treacherous, dishonest and fraudulent. The objective of destabilizing a duly constitutionally elected state government and encouraging terrorist outfits is aimed at to achieve some petty political gains at the cost of the nation.

ROLE OF LAND MAFIAS, LAND SHARKS AND LAND BROKERS

As in Bihar and Jharkhand, land mafias, land sharks and land brokers in West Bengal under the umbrella of TMC-Congress-SUCI also support Maoists with muscle power and finance them for their own vested interests. In Singur, Nandigram and Lalgarh they did so for opposing land acquisition by the government for industrial purposes. Their Supremo also advocates for direct land procurement by land mafias, land sharks and land brokers for industry and I.T. Parks. The latest incident of Vedic Village and the involvement of her party MLA and leaders is a glaring example of the same. Keeping in mind the interests of the land mafias, land sharks and land brokers, she, therefore, vehemently opposes the Land Acquisition Act, 1894.

ROLE OF WEST BENGAL GOVERNOR

Last but not the least. The pro-Imperialist and blind anti-Communist Governor of West Bengal has played a vital role in the consolidation of Maoists in Nandigram and Jangalmahal areas. In fact, he is the “Friend, Philosopher and Guide” of the Rainbow Alliance of Maoist-TMC-Congress-SUCI-Few Perverted intellectuals. He makes regular politically motivated prejudiced public statements for landing the Left Front Government in constitutional crisis instead of discharging impartially and honestly his duties as a constitutional head. His so-called conscience wakes up on particular occasions as and when desired or required by Mamata Banerjee and Maoists to suit their political interests and violence. The Governor House has become a political centre for hatching political conspiracy against the mainstream Leftists. The pro-Maoist intellectuals and the leaders of the Rainbow Alliance have easy access to him at any moment.

The Governor could have cleared the air about what actually transpired during talks between government and TMC on Singur ‘Nano’ factory at Raj Bhavan. Instead, he mysteriously maintained a studied silence. His prejudiced, biased and politically calculated silence and role actually deepened and complicated the crisis rather than solve it and hammered the last nail in the coffin of the project to push the political agenda of Mamata Banerjee.

His two public statements on Nandigram and one statement on recent violence were aimed at serving the purpose of Mamata Banerjee and the Maoists whereas the statement of 7th September, 2009 was aimed at to safeguard the Maoist violence in Lalgarh. The Governor of West Bengal was forced to issue this statement reluctantly condemning gruesome murders taking place every day in Jangalmahal of WB. But nowhere in it has he mentioned who the murderers vis-a-vis victims are. The skillfully drafted statement is general, vague, ambiguous and evasive aiming at to safeguard and shield the Maoists. All the victims killed by Maoists are CPI (M) leaders and cadres. Not even a single worker of the Rainbow Alliance has been killed by them. The over-smart Governor pretends to look impartial and innocent.

The role played by the then Governor of Kerala, intellectuals and NGOs in pulling down the 1st Communists led state government under the leadership of EMS Namboodripad in 1959 through violent methods is still in memory of all. The role of the governors in the later days has always been controversial inviting the intervention of the Supreme Court of India.

In Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, Chhattisgarh and other states, the Maoists could not muster support from any mainstream local or national party. But West Bengal is an exception to the same. Here the Rainbow Alliance of Maoist-TMC-Congress-SUCI-Few Perverted Intellectuals-Communal Forces has been misusing the Maoists with a common agendum of overthrowing a constitutionally elected state government to serve the interests of imperialists, big business houses, land mafias and other reactionary forces as was done in Hungary, Poland, Romania, Checkslovakia and other countries.

MAMATA BANERJEE FLAGS OFF DURANT EXPRESS FROM SEALDAH

On 18-09-2009, Miss Mamata Banerjee has flagged off Sealdah-New Delhi Durant Express in the presence of few sycophant spineless greedy ‘so-called’ intellectuals performing tricks and feats of jugglery and dancing shamelessly to her tunes in a function organized by incurring huge expenditure from the exchequer extravagantly in these days of austerity drive. It is shocking to say the least that in order to obtain narrow political mileage Miss Banerjee has whimsically introduced the bullet speed Durant Express Train without considering track position and safety & security of the passengers.

There is no denying the fact that the whole of Raniganj and Jharia Coalfields stand in great danger owing to unscientific, slaughtering, indiscriminate and illegal coal mining operations carried out over 200 years by erstwhile private owners, Coal India Limited and coal mafias. More than 200 locations have already been declared unsafe and insecured by the Director General of Mines Safety, Dhanbad. The list is becoming lengthier with the passage of each day. As a matter of fact, incidents of subsidence, gas, fire, burning of underground coal, blasting and deaths have become a day-to-day regular feature. The railway tracks running through these belts are situated on vast stretches of endangered zones. It is needless to mention that the areas lying underground and near the railways tracks are considered not to be safe and secure at all.

Apart from this, the train consisting of 16 compartments has been assembled with 10 condemned compartments of “Rajdhani Express”, 6 condemned compartments of “Gareeb Rath” and an old engine brought from Ghaziabad.

Immediately after few minutes of flagging off, the engine developed technical problems and the Indian Railways was forced to stop it at Dankuni.

Are the lives of passengers less valuable than the political ambitions and whims of the ‘Didi’? Would it be unreasonable if the train is named “Durant (Suicidal) Express”?. If any kind of accident takes place on any day at any moment for satisfying the whims and caprices of Mamata Banerjee for electoral gains, the entire responsibility and onus thereof will remain with her only and none else.

MAMATA BANERJEE ATTACKS CPI (M) ON RAILWAYS

On 18-09-2009, while flagging off Sealdah-New Delhi Durant Express in the presence of few sycophant spineless greedy intellectuals performing tricks and feats of jugglery and dancing shamelessly to her tunes in an official railway function turned political platform of TMC, Miss Mamata Banerjee called upon the CPI (M) to refrain from engaging in blockade of railway tracks in the larger interest of the development of state. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE DEVIL WORSHIPPING GOD. The whole country witnessed it is the same Mamata Banerjee and her goons who on the slightest pretext have destroyed time and again the valuable property inside the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, burnt trains, buses, mini buses, trams, cars, trucks, two wheelers, government offices and so on worth crores and crores of rupees. She had obstructed railways tracks and National Highways for days together during Singur and Nandigram agitations including Durgapur Highway Express for 17 days causing serious inconvenience to all. Even, she did not pay any kind of heed to the directions of the Hon’ble High Court of Kolkata. It is she who forcibly did not allow coming up of much-awaited Chemical Hub at Nandigram, Tata’s Nano Factory at Singur, expansion of National Highways, construction of Hospitals, I.T. Parks, Bridges, Aerodromes, Industries, Thermal Power Plants, etc. in West Bengal. Now she advises about industrialization, blockade of railway tracks, public inconvenience and development of the state.

She thinks that the people of the country are stupid and foolish. They will believe her words like those of the Ramayana, the Quran and the Bible as Hitler in Germany had assumed. She has not yet realized that her sheer dishonesty, duplicity, political gimmick and fraudulence for election gains stand exposed.

Now, the pertinent question is that how long such type of arrogant and irresponsible leader will be tolerated in public life and allowed in holding the country to ransom.

AUSTERITY DRAMA OF DR. MANMOHAN SINGH

Mrs.Sonia Gandhi, Shri Rahul Gandhi, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Shri Pranab Mukherjee and other leaders of UPA have now-a-days occupied the captions of TV Channels and the print media for taking recourse to journey by “Economy Class” in air flights as a part of their ‘so-called’ austerity drive. But they are silent as to whether they have cut down the expenditure incurred on their accommodations, security, attendants and other facilities, amenities & perquisites to keep pace with the present hard days of existence. Besides, nothing is said about Mamata Banerjee and six other Central Ministers belonging to TMC. Most of the days they are in West Bengal engaged in provincial politics. She has skipped 7 out of 12 Cabinet meetings. The entire Railway Ministry has been shifted to Kolkata from New Delhi. Expenditure is made extravagantly to fulfil her whims and caprices. She has become the most costliest Minister of India. Moreover, instead of performing their constitutionally allotted duties as Central Ministers of the entire nation, she and her colleagues are hell bent on inciting violence in different parts of the state every now and then using their portfolios forgetting that huge expenditure is incurred on them from the exchequer for serving the entire nation. Their activities trigger the impression to gain ground that they are Ministers for Bengal only. Dr. Manmohan Singh should place before the nation immediately the performance record of Mamata Banerjee and her Central Ministers from West Bengal.

ANTI-CPI (M) AND ANTI-LEFT FRONT MEDIA OF WEST BENGAL

The Constitution of India gives editors and journalists the fundamental right to publish and print news or any kind of information and to comment and criticize on public affairs. It includes the right not to publish or comment as well. However, the freedom of the press is not absolute; neither is the freedom of expression.

A compendium of broad principles evolved by the Press Council of India through its adjudications/principles was first published in 1983-84. In October, 1992, the Council published an updated but succinct compilation of the principles of journalistic ethics sorted out from the adjudication of the Council and the guidelines issued by it in their wake. The Guide of Journalistic Ethics was further revised and updated in 1995 by the then Chairman, Mr. Justice P.B. Sawant. Below are excerpts from the 1992 Guidelines.

(1) The fundamental objective of journalism is to serve the people with news, views, comments and information on matters of public interest, in a fair, accurate, unbiased, sober and decent manner. Publication of inaccurate, baseless, graceless, misleading or distorted materials should be avoided. Al sides of the core issue or subject should be reported.

(2) Verification and checking of news before publication is necessary.

(3) News of slanderous nature should be discarded.

(4) News based on the report of an accredited correspondent should be discarded.

(5) Unjustified rumours and surmises should not be set forth as facts.

(6) Journalists should judge no one unheard.

(7) Newspapers should not publish anything which is per se defamatory or libellous against any individual or organization.

(8) Whenever a newspaper receives a report or article containing defamatory or derogatory imputations or comments against a public figure, public servant or public organization, touching his/her or its public conduct or character in so far as it appears in that conduct, the editor should, before publishing it, check with due care and attention, its factual accuracy apart from other authentic sources, with the person or the organization concerned to elicit his/her or its version, comments or reaction and publish the same.

(9) This salutary rule of journalistic ethics and fairness follows as a necessary corollary from two basic principles:

The first is a fundamental canon of natural justice that no one should be condemned unheard.

The second is that freedom of the press is not merely a right of the publishers and editors but also of the readers’/peoples’ right to know all sides of an issue of public interest.

(10) Newspapers should not present acts of violence and terrorist activities in a manner that glorifies these acts.

(11) Newspapers should not pass on or elevate conjecture, speculation or comment as a statement of fact.

As a matter of fact, most of the media, both print and electronic, in West Bengal has always been very much biased and prejudiced against the C.P.I. (M), the Left Front and the Left Front Government. They never follow minimum journalistic ethics and fairness as enumerated above by the Press Council of India while publishing news in respect of CPI (M) and the Left Front Government. Now-a-days, their sole and only political aim is to instal Mamata Banerjee as the next Chief Minister of West Bengal by any how and at any cost. So, all their reporting is guided by this intention in mind. They have been turning the day into night and the night into day. Joseph Goebbels were alive, they would have been ashamed and traumatized to see that their successors in the media of West Bengal have reached very very far-off surpassing them in the matter of fraudulency, deception, dishonesty, distortion of fact, manufacture and concoction of false & fake news, slanderous campaign, unfairness and what not.

“Ananda Bazaar Patrika” is the leader and pioneer in this respect with “Star Anand”, “Bartaman” Pratidin, Sangbad and Statesman following it. Throwing all code of ethics and media guidelines to the winds, they are hell bent on disgracing, defaming, tarnishing and discrediting CPI (M) and its allies on this or that pretext.

The following are few of the glaring examples of their misdeeds.

(1) During Indo-China War, these media termed Communists as agents of China and tried to create public hysteria against them.

(2) During Indo-Pakistan War in 1965 and 1971 the media tried to term CPI (M) as the agent of Pakistan.

(3) The media created a hue and cry over the unfortunate incident at Rabindra Sarovar Stadium and tried to slander CPI (M) and other Leftist parties saying that hundreds of women were raped and molested.

(4) A flood of lies and manufactured stories were unleashed against CPI (M) and its cadres while reporting the incident of Sain Bari at Burdwan.

(5) Most respected Forward Block leader Hemanta Bose was murdered by Naxalites in 1971. But the media tried to put the onus of the same on CPI (M).

(6) During 1969-1972 this media tried to glorify the Naxalites and justify the murder of hundreds of CPI (M) cadres by Congxals (Congress + Naxals).

(7) During Panchayat Election in 1998 this media spread concocted news that Chapala Sardar was raped by CPI (M) leaders in South 24, Parganas. Later it was proved to be false.

(8) During Nandigram episode this media spread fabricated false news that hundreds of women were raped and hundreds of minor children were murdered by CPI (M) cadres. But not even a single case was proved true.

(9) Misusing the unfortunate death of Rizwanur Rahaman, they created unprecedented communal ill-feelings and hatred against CPI (M) and the Leftists during the last Parliamentary Elections.

(10) The media has been glorifying the Maoists in every possible manner and justifying their gruesome murder of CPI (M) cadres and leaders Nandigram, Lalgarh, Jangalmahal and other areas.

(11) They have been justifying the violence against CPI (M) perpetrated by the rainbow alliance of TMC-Congress-Maoists-SUCI in West Bengal.

(12) They use some purchased so-called greedy and dishonest intellectuals for the purpose.

They are in competition with one another as to who can manufacture, fabricate and concoctate more and more fake and false news in respect of CPI (M) and the Leftist movement in West Bengal and the rest of the country. They are so much obsessed with anti-CPI (M) politics that even a slight rumour or gossip involving it occupies headlines of their front page.

PRIME MINISTER ON MAOIST DANGER

In a three day conference of Directors General and Inspectors General of Police of the State Governments organized by Intelligence Bureau in New Delhi on and from 14-09-2009, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Hon’ble Prime Minister, had described Maoists as the gravest threat to the internal security of the nation. Shri P. Chidambaram, Home Minister, had informed the conclave that the Maoists had presence in 17 states and were responsible for 90% of the violence in the country. He had also said that 721 people were killed in 1,591 Maoists attacks in 2008 and till August this year, 1,405 attacks claimed 580 lives spread over 11 states. Both Dr. Singh and P. Chidambaram had some harsh words for the states for their poor handling of Maoist and insurgency problems and advised them to take necessary drastic steps against Left Wing extremism and other anti-national terrorist outfits in the larger interest of the nation.

In this connection, it would not be out of place to mention that it is as clear as crystal to the whole world that the Railway Minister and her six Central Ministers belonging to TMC are actively hand in gloves with Maoists in West Bengal. They not only support the terrorist outfit openly without any hesitation but also have regular meetings with them and provide Maoists with arms & ammunition, fund and manpower. Maoists, being the hired killers of TMC, have been perpetrating one after another gruesome crimes sending a chill down the spine of every reasonable right thinking citizen of the country. Their one and sole objective is to change the loyalty of the people from CPI (M) to Mamata Banerjee and install her as the next Chief Minister of Bengal. So far she has not uttered even a single word condemning the brutalities of Maoists in Lalgarh, Nandigram, Singur and other places. On the other hand, she has again and again tried to shield and shelter them denying their involvement in the ghastly murder of tribals and people from other weaker sections of the society. She does not stop here only. She has also gone to the far of denying their presence in those areas. In fact, the workers of TMC, Congress and SUCI have got intermingled with Maoists. Until now not even a single TMC or Congress or SUCI worker has been killed by Maoist butchers. Apart from this, Maoist and Naxalite leaders such as Purnendu Bose and others are seen openly on her political platforms as well as official railway functions. Mamata Banerjee and her Ministers & leaders have easy and safe access to Maoist infested zones. It is an open secret that the Maoist leader Chatradhar Mahato is a well known TMC leader of Lalgarh. The public statements made by Maoist leaders Kishenji and Bikash substantiate beyond doubt that Mamata Banerjee and Maoists are one and same.

So, to be fair in all respect, instead of playing duplicity on the nation in the form of giving advice to the state governments, it will be better on the part of both Dr. Manmohan Singh and Shri P. Chidambaram to take immediate necessary steps against Mamata Banerjee and the six Central Ministers for hobnobbing with and misusing desperately terrorist outfits and antinational forces for petty and narrow political gains.

CAN "DURANT EXPRESS" WITHSTAND COALMINING HAZARDS?

As a result of unscientific, slaughtering, indiscriminate and illegal coal mining operation carried out for more than 200 years by both private and Coal India Ltd. a vast stretch of land falling within Raniganj Coalfields in W. Bengal and Jharia Coalfields in Jharkhand have become unsafe and risky. Occurrence of subsidence, gas, fire etc. under and near railways tracks have become a regular feature. In 1997 itself DGMS, Dhanbad had declared 171 locations dangerous & unsafe. By now the list has become lengthier. The railway tracks running to North India from Howrah & Sealdah Railway Stations stand on these dangerous zones of the two coalfields. In order to earn narrow political mileage adamant Railway Minister wants to introduce “DURANT EXPRESS” from Howrah & Sealdah to New Delhi without considering minimum safety aspect of innocent passengers. Will railway tracks standing on land vulnerable to subsidence and landslide will be able to withstand the bullet speed of “DURANT EXPRESS’?
